Guns...

Why do people carry the largest handgun that they can get? One thing I've noticed is that it seems like everyone wants a .45ACP. Why is that? The bullets are extremly expensive, usually the handgun is big so it is hard to conceal, and the kick is usually quite hard. Also, the gun is usually quite expensive.

Why not just buy a .9mm? The nine is commonly used as a back-up weapon for law enforcement officers. It is smaller and easier to conceal. Most important, the bullets are cheaper, and if you get hollow-points, is quite leathal. (Of course, it's also lethal without hollow points.) The most important thing is that the bullets are cheaper. That means that you can buy a lot of bullets and do a lot of practicing. I would rather have a lot of practice with a nine than spend a lot of money on a .45.

The answer to this question is quite simple. Because its an American tradition to have the biggest and the baddest. Its the whole "cowboy" image. For example, why do people drive jacked-up F-550's and large diesel trucks vs a Geo? It's the thirst for power. I think the reason people opt for the 45 is because its big and yet they dont have to sell their first born to shoot it. Granted its more expensive than a 9mm but not to the point of impracticality but wicked cool desert eagle 50cal (which by the way is the ultimate in handgun statements.)

Of course, I would expect that kind of response from you.

My S&W is hard to shoot too, but that is just because of the built in safety. It is cheaper to shoot, so i can get more practice in with it.

It appears that you yourself have an obsession with guns and it may not be a healthy one. Perhaps you should seek psychological help or maybe it is just something to do with your ADHD.
