Olive Garden Adventure

Well...I went out to eat last night with Chris and Mike. We wanted to try the new Olive Garden in the area. There has been one Olive Garden at the Shops of Verdae off of I-85 on the east side, but this one opened up at Cherrydale the week before Christmas. We all love Italian and thought it would be a great place to try. However, because it was new, we knew that it would be busy. We decided that Mike and I would pick Chris up from work at 5pm and we would head straight over for an early supper.

When we arrived, we were seated by the hostess. She said that our server would be buy in a minute to get our drink orders. So we waited...and waited...and waited...and waited. Finally, after about ten minutes, I was finally able to flag down someone to ask where our server was. She went to find out and came back a few minutes later to say he would be "right with us." After sitting there and loosing 50lbs, the waiter finally came over and asked if he could get our beverage order. We said, "Sure. While your here, why not take the rest of the order too!"

The waiter then rushed away to put our order in. About five minutes later he came back with the drinks. Chris and Mike had Dr. Pepper's and I had a Diet Coke. Well...this is where the fun begins...Our waiter gave Mike his Dr. Pepper and reached over to give Chris his. He was going to give me my Diet Coke, but it ended up all over the table and Mike. Well, Mike hurried off to the bathroom to get there before people thought he didn't make it in time (think about that for a second). Meanwhile, the waiter is apologizing, wiping up the table, and saying that the manager will be over to "fix" everything. Mike then returned and the waiter asked if he got wet. Mike was thinking, "No, I peed on myself before I came in. That's why my pants are soaked!"

Anyway, the manager came over and asked if everything was ok. I told him "Yes, we brought our boat for when the server brings out the soup!" The manager then gave us our appetizer free.

Overall, the food wasn't bad. Everytime the waiter came out I warned Mike and Chris. I had the stuffed Chicken Marsala (but mine is better). However, I don't think the three of us will be hurrying back there anytime soon. At least not until after we buy some galoshes and rain gear.

I don't have a recipie. I have made Chicken Marsala since I was 16 yrs old. I used to work as a cook in an Italian restaurant. Let's just say that Italian is my specialty.

Actually, you missed out. Last night I cooked some Chicken Marsala for Mike & Chris. I figured it was too late for you to come over. (Also too cold)

    1. Next time you go to Olive Garden, try the Steak Gorgonzola. Mmmmmm. . .
    2. We need to have a BJU-to-EMT get- together. You and I can cook. I'll even volunteer my house, grill, kitchen, etc.

Steak Gorgonzola?? Sounds yummy. I don't know when I will be going to Olive Garden again.

The get-together sounds like a great idea. We'll have to plan something.
